Russell R. Wood

Russell R. (Bud) Wood, 71, of Washington R. D. 5, died at 7:15 p.m.Friday, October 4, 1991, in Washington Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past week.

He was born April 24, 1920, in Waynesburg, a son of Floren and Goldie Ward Wood.

Mr. Wood was Protestant.

He had been employed by Washington Steel Corp. for 24 1/2 years as a prep line operator, retiring in 1973 for health reasons.

During World War II he served with the U. S. Army;s 45 Infantry Division in Sicily anf Italy. He was a member of the Taylorstown American Legion Post 907 and a former finance officer for the post.

On December 20, 1941, he married Evelyn Canan, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Russell R. Wood II of Franklin, and James David Wood of Washington; three daughters, Donis Wood of Pittsburgh, Joyce Johns of Washington, and Mrs. Larry (Pamela) Raley of Wellsville, Kan.; a sister, Betty Ankrom of Waynesburg, four stepbrothers; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Deceased is a brother, Floyd Wood.
