JOSEPH H. WHITEHILL

Joseph H. Whitehill, 45, a former resident of Brave, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 1951, at the veteran's hospital at Martinsburg, W. Va., after a lingering illness.

A son of A. J. Whitehill of Sycamore, R.D. 2, and the late Zora Headley Whitehill, the deceased was born April 29 1906, at Brave. He resided all his life in Greene County with the exception of several years during which he lived at Lawrenceville, Tioga County.

Mr. Whitehill was a mamber of the Kent's Methodist Church at Brave, of the F. & A. M., Tioga, Pa., and the American Legion. A veteran of World War II he spent 18 months in the South Pacific. He was a former employee of the People's Gas Company.

Surviving in addition to his father are a brother, Wilbur Whitehill of Sycamore R.D. 2, and three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Parker of Lawrenceville, Mrs. Gladys Headley of Brock and Mrs. Helen Stockdale of Nettle Hill.


WHITEHILL - Funeral services for Joseph H. Whitehill, former resident of Brave who died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 1951 in a veterans hospital at Martinsburg, W. Va., will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, in the Church Funeral Home, 197 North Maiden street, Waynesburg, with the Rev. Paul P. Holden officiating. Graveside military rites will be conducted by James Farrell Post No. 330, American Legion. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today (Wednesday).
