Ralph C. Stockdale

Ralph C. Stockdale, 56, of 623 Ross street, Waynesburg, died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 1964, in the Greene County Memorial Hospital.

He had been in poor health for seven years.

He was born March 28, 1908, in Jackson Township, a son of Laura Snider Stockdale and the late Sheridan Stockdale.

June 28, 1929, he married Alice Wood, who survives.

All his married life was spent in the Waynesburg area where he was a member of the First Christian Church, the Men's Bible Class of the church, and had served as a deacon and elder for 30 years. He was an honorary elder at the time of his death.

For nearly 20 years he ahd been a watchmaker in Waynesburg and he later worked at the Studebaker garage and the Weaver Funeral Home.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Alice Wood Stockdale, and his mother, Laura Stockdale, of Rogersville, are seven Brothers, Gail, of Holbrook; COnrad, of Painesville; Hillard of Waynesburg, R. D. 5; Millard, of Waynesburg; Glenn, of Waynesburg, R. D. 2; Russell, of Mars; Randolph, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Bernice Pfender, of Rogersville, and Mrs.Velma Kughn, of Waynesburg, and severall nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held October 6, 1964, with burial in Rosemont Cemetery, near Rogersville.
