Nellie Cumberledge Stockdale Obituary

Nellie Grace Stockdale, 68, of Rutan, died at 1 A.M., Wednesday, Nov. 16, 1960, after a lingering illness.

She was born May 23, 1892, at Brave, a daughter of the late Samuel and Nancy Wise Cumberledge. She was married May 14, 1910, to Ray Stockdale, who survives. Last summer the couple celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary. She was a member of the Bethany Methodist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are eight daughters, Helen, wife of Bert Singleton, Tampa, Fla.; Blanche, wife of Wilfred Brannon, Oil City; Marie, wife of Charles Stewart, Toledo, Ohio; Pauline, wife of Allen Wise, Bristoria; Grace, wife of Percy Huffman, West Finley; Hope, wife of Clifford McCollum, Toledo, Ohio; Joy, wife of Dennis McCollum, Holbrook, and Faith, wife of Jack Gillogly, Scenery Hill; and two sons, Jack Stockdale, of Ruff Creek, and Harry Stockdale, of Delmont. There are 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Ella, wife of Conrad Stockdale, of Painesville, Ohio.

Deceased are one daughter, Ferne Stockdale, and two brothers, Lee and Ray Cumberledge.
