David C. Stockdale

David C. Stockdale, 75, of Holbrook Star Route, was dead on arrival at Greene County Memorial Hospital, at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 1973. He had been seriously ill for the past five weeks.

Mr. Stockdale, a son of the late Thomas Robert Stockdale and Mary Etta Williams Stockdale, was born June 30, 1897 in Jackson Township. He never married.

As a young man he was employed on the river docks at New Kensington, and later operated a farm in Jackson Township. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Waynesburg Post 4793, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Greene County Veterans Club.

Surviving are a brother, Frank, of Loudenville, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.

Three sisters, Carrie Hall, Elizabeth Schott and Nelle Cumberledge, and three brothers, J. T. Stockdale, Ross Stockdale and Ray Stockdale, are deceased.
