J. B. Smith J. B. Smith, aged 70, former Greene County resident, died yesterday, Sept. 14, 1939, at his home at New Concord, Ohio, after a prolonged illness due to a complication of ailments. A son of John and Eliza Fordyce Smith, he spent most of his life in the Pine Bank community and was widely known in southwestern Greene County, where he followed farming and stock raising until his removal to Ohio some years ago. Besides his wife, Mary Clovis Smith, he leaves one daughter, Mrs. D. Clyde Haines, of Pine Bank, and four grandchildren. A son, Dr. Carl Smith, of Moundsville, W. Va., died last February. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. M. L. core, of Morgantown, W. Va. Mr. Smith was an uncle of H. E. Milliken and Mrs. W. V. Hoskinson, of Waynesburg. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock in the Pine Bank Methodist Church and interment will be in the church cemetery.
