Mrs. Amos Simpier passed away at her home in 119th street Monday morning after a lingering illness of cancer. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from the home of her sister, Mrs. Druke Johnson in Sheridan avenue. After brief service at the house, the service was completed by Rev. Rogers at the M.E. church. Interment was made at Oak Hill in Hammond. Mrs. Simpier is survived by her husband, and one son, Floyd, her mother, two sisters and two brothers, one of whom is in service in France. Besides her immediate relatives she is mourned by a host of admiring friends. Whiting Call, August 1918 (Whiting, Indiana)
