Mrs. Virgie Shriver, 78, of Rt. 1, Core, formerly of Rt. 1, Burton, died Tuesday, at her home after an extended illness.

She was born Nov 12, 1895, at Brock, Pa. a daughter of the late David and Addie Henkins Whitlatch. She was a member of the Valley Chapel United Methodist Church near Wadestown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Shriver, in 1959. She is survived by one son, Floyd Shriver of R. 1, Core; one daughter, Mrs. Lois Jenkins of Rt. 1, Core; Mrs. Dorothy Cross Hudson of Barberton, Ohio, who was reared in the Shriver home, two sisters, Mrs. Opal Pierce of Westminister, Colo. and Mrs. Gladys Headley of Skaggs, Pa; three grandchildren; five foster grandchildren, and seven foster great-grandchildren.

Virgie Shriver

Mrs. Virgie Shriver, 78, of Route 1, Core, W. Va., formerly of Route 1, Burton, W. Va., died Tuesday, March 26, 1974 in her home after an extended illness.

Born November 12, 1895 at Brock, she was the daughter of David and Addie Henkins Whitlatch, and was the widow of Charles Shriver, who died in 1959.

Mrs. Shriver was a resident of northern West Virginia all her life, and was a member of the Valley Chapel United Methodist Church, near Wadestown.

Surviving are a son, Floyd Shriver and a daughter, Mrs. Lois Jenkins, both of Route 1, Core W. Va.; and Mrs. Dorothy Cross Hudson of Barberton, Ohio, who was reared in the Shriver home; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Opal Pierce of Westminster, Colo.; and Mrs. Gladys Headley of Spraggs.

Also surviving are five foster grandchildren and seven foster great-grandchildren.

Two sisters are deceased.
