Robert Russell

Robert Dale Russell, 70, of 234 Willow Road, Waynesburg, died at 3:15 p.m. Saturday, M arch 28, 1987, as a result of injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident.

He was born September 21, 1916, in Mt. Morris, a son of Goldie Mae Wade Russell of Mt. Morris R. D. 1 and the late Eli Hampton Russell.

He lived his entire life in Greene County. He was affiliated with the Kirby United Methodist Church.

He was an avid sportsman and was a member of the Waynesburg Sportsmen's Club. He was also a member of the Robert Cowell and Sons Bowling Team in the Civic League.

In his early life he was employed at the Nemacolin Mine and Pursglove Mine. He was known for the Hereford cattle he raised on his farm in Whiteley Township, where he retired in 1978.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Beatrice Headley Russell, whom he married November 30, 1939, a foster son, Robert Dale Cowell of Waynesburg; five foster grandchildren, Deborah Scott of Waynesburg, Pam Cowell of Canton, Ohio, Robert Cowell Jr., Christa Cowell and Brandon Lee Cowell, all of Waynesburg; two foster grandchildren [sic] and a sister , Mrs. Robert (Wilma) Pyles of Mt.
