Mrs. S. Ross Phillips

Mrs. Mary Alice Phillips, 78 years, wife of S. Ross Phillips, died Sunday, July 8, 1962, in her home on East Greene street. SHe had been ill a long time.

Mrs. Phillipswas a daughter of Lindsey and Susan Headlee Dulaney, and was born February 24, 1884, in Wayne Township. On March 7, 1903, she was united in marriage with S. Ross Phillips.

Mrs. Phillips was a member of the First Methodist Church; was a charter member of the Worthwhile Bible Class; and was a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service. She was also a member of the Emerald Chapter 135, Order of the Eastern Star; Lady Greene Rebekah Lodge 385; Tahoma Club; Three Links Club and F. H. C. Club.

Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Mae) Murdock of Waynesburg; two sons, Charles of Brookville and Walter of Washington; and five grandchildren, Mrs. William Levers of Elm Grove, W. Va.; Charles Phillips of Baldwin; Robert of Washington, Pa.; and Terry and Larry Murdock of Waynesburg. Also surviving are six greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Pearl Dulaney of Waynesburg and Mrs. Ida Johnson of Pentress, W. Va. Three sisters and one brother are deceased.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at one o'clock in the Mariner and Milliken Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. J. W. Lofgen. Interment in Oakmont Cemetery.
