Harvey Patterson

Harvey Edward Patterson, 82, of Waynesburg, R. D. 3, died at 1:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 1969 in Greene County Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health for the past few years.

He was born April 15, 1888, in Perry Township, the son of Frank and Eliza Whitlatch Patterson. His wife, Elizabeth Mitchell Patterson, who he married October 2, 1921, survives.

A veteran of World War I, Mr. Patterson was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Waynesburg, and James Farrell Post 330 of the American Legion. He had been a truck driver for the Franklin Township road supervisors, and had resided at Waynesburg most of his life.

Surviving are eight daughters: Mrs. Ruth Patterson and Mrs. Iris Jean Roe, both of Washington; Mrs. Hazel Miller and Mrs. Pauline Dotson, both of Millsboro; Mrs. Donna Blaker, of Mentor, Ohio; Mrs. Helen Stickovich, of Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Doyle Forshey, of Ft. Knox, Ky.;and Mrs. Carol Ann Gump, of Waynesburg; three sons: Wiliam Patterson, of Sycamore, R. D. 1; Harvey E. Patterson Jr., of Miami, Fla.; and Jack Patterson, of Washington; one stepson, Delmont Rush, of Washington; 25 grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Ada Patterson and Miss Aliff Patterson, both of Waynesburg; and one brother, Don Patterson, of Waynesburg.

Five brothers, Enlo, David, Ross, Charles and Norman are deceased.

Funeral services were held Wednesday with burial in Greene County Memorial Park.
