KILLED IN FALL FROM SCAFFOLD

Word was received here yesterday afternoon that Fordyce Morris, aged 49, of Marianna, formerly of Waynesburg, was killed yesterday morning when the scaffolding fell while he was working as a painter in the Pittsburgh vicinity.

Mr. Morris was a son of John Morris, of East High street, and the late Emma Fordyce Morris, and was born and reared on a farm a few miles southeast of Waynesburg, where A. J. Morris now resides. The family lived in Waynesburg for several years and also resided in Florida, but about a year ago moved to the Marianna district. Mr. Morris married Miss Mary Minor, of Garards Fort, who survives with one daughter, Miss Madolyn Morris, a student nurse in the West Penn hospital, Pittsburgh. He also leaves his father and one sister, Miss Lyda Morris, of East High street.

Mr. Morris was in the mercantile business at Fordyce for several years, and also was employed for some time by the Philadelphia Gas Company. He was a member of the Fordyce Methodist Episcopal church.

Democrat Messenger, July 19, 1929 (Greene County, PA)
