Melvin F. Mitchell

Melvin F. Mitchell, 38, of Hundred, W. Va., died unexpectedly at his home Monday afternoon, November 30, 1970.

He was born November 9, 1932, in Greene County, a son of Mrs. Mary Fordyce Mitchell, of Rogersville, and the late Charles W. Mitchell.

Mr. Mitchell was employed by the Columbia Gas System and was a member of the Hundred Volunteer Fire Department, Littleton Lodge 31, AF and AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, Wheeling, W. Va., the Columbus Gas Club, and was vice president of the Hundred Band Boosters. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Fern Conkey Mitchell; two daughters, Debra and Diane, both at home; two brothers, Harold, of Waynesburg, and Charles D., of Somerset, and a sister, Mrs. Grace Tucker, of Pittsburgh.

Funeral services were held Thursday with burial in Rosemont Cemetery.
