Ada Guthrie Masters Obituary

Ada Guthrie Masters, 51, widow of Dempsey Masters, of Brock, died Friday, July 5, 1929, at 11 a.m., in the Greene Co. Memorial hospital. Mrs. Masters had been ill of a complication of diseases for the past three years. She was a daughter of James P. Guthrie and Hester Walters Guthrie, of Morgantown, W. Va., and was married to Dempsey Masters whose death occurred in Feb., 1928. Besides her parents she leaves the following daughters and sons; Mrs.Gail Eddy, of Morgantown, W. Va.; Mrs. Glennie Phillips of Mt. Morris; Mrs. Gladys Lemley, ??? and Carl Masters at home. The following brothers and sisters also survive; Mrs. T. L. Cole, Mrs. Lilly Potter, Frank E. Guthrie and S. V. Guthrie, of Morgantown, W. Va. One grandson, Eugene Eddy of Morgantown survives. Mrs. Masters was a member of the Valley Chapel Methodist Episcopal churches. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Valley Chapel church conducted by the pastor, Rev. M. L. Husted of Kirby. Interment was in the Valley Chapel cemetery.
