Simeon Lemley, 85, of Blacksville, West Virginia, died Wednesday, April 28, 1971 in the Greene County Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born April 23, 1886 in Daybrook, West Virginia, a son of the late David S. and Hettie Fordyce Lemley. He was a member of the Miracle Run United Methodist Church. He was a farmer in the Blacksville area for many years.

Surviving are his wife, Mary A. Lemley, three daughters, Mrs. Rex (Mildred) Tuttle of Grand Rapids, Michigan; Mrs. Lawrence (Rosella) Bennett of Ida Mae, West Virginia and Mrs. John (Bonnie) Sobolewski, of Fairmont, West Virginia. Also surviving are three sons, Milford, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan; Harold, of Alma, Michigan and Paul of Jefferson.

Surviving in addition are 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildm and three sisters, Mrs. Albert (Goldie) Shuman, of Morgantown, West Virginia; Mrs. Abe (Mary Ellen) Shriver and Mrs. Naomi Tuttle, both of Miracle Run, West Virginia.

One brother preceded him in death.


LEMLEY - Friends of Simeon Lemley, 85, of Blacksville, West Virginia, who died Wednesday, April 28, 1971, are being received after 4 p.m. Friday in the Owen Funeral Home, Blacksville, West Virginia. The body will be removed to the Blacksville United Methodist Church Saturday where it will lie in state from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. the hour of services with Rev. Victor A. Tenney, officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Park.
