ALONZO BEELER Robert Keener

Robert McClelland Keener, well known resident of Brave, and a retired oil field worker, died at his home Friday morning, October 25, at 11:20 o'clock, following an illness due to a complication of ailments.

Mr. Keener, who was aged 72 years, 5 months and 26 days, was a son of the late Sebastian Keener and Margaret Vance Keener, and for a period of 40 years was employed by the South Penn Oil Company, retiring five years ago. His wife, Susanna Headley Keener, died six years ago. Mr. Keener was long a member of the Kent Methodist Episcopal Church at Brave. In addition to two sons, Murrel Keener, of Brave and Rex M. Keener, of Morgantown, W. Va., he leaves the following brothers and sisters: Frank, of Mt. Morris; George, of Taylorstown; Josie, of Star City, W. Va.; Jesse, of Garards Fort; Miss Rhetta Keener, of Morgantown; Mrs. Della A. Williams, of New Geneva, and Mrs. Mary Hopkins, of Mapletown.

The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon. Friends and relatives will meet at the Keener home at 1 o'clock for brief services, with further rites at 1:30 in the Kent M. E. Church. The services will be in charge of Rev. T. E. Shea, of Brave. Interment will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery at Mt. Morris.

The pallbearers selected for the funeral are as follows: Honorary - Sherman Haught, J. N. Weaver, J. C. Knight, L.O. Debolt, L. M. Wise, William Wilson, David Glover, Larney Tennant, H. W. Huffman, Dr. S. C. Steele, J. L. Ridgway and Fred Lough. Active - John Cox, Stanley Llough, Nick Howard, Harry Park, A. D. Haught and Lloyd Haught.
