Mrs. Lucy Baily John

Mrs. Lucy Baily John, 62, well known Whiteley Township woman, and wife of Hagan John, died suddenly yesterday, Sept. 17, at 9:15 a.m. in her home, Mt. Morris Star Route.

Born Feb. 22, 1885, Mrs. John was the daughter of the late Abner J. and Martha Shriver Baily. She was a member of the Kirby Methodist Church. She was also very active in community affairs and was a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service, Farm Women's Society of Whiteley Township and of the Kirby Grange.

Beside her husband, she is survived by one brother, Frank Baily, of Mt. Morris Star Route, and three nephews, William Baily, of Fair Oaks, Harry Baily and Hagan Baily, both of Mt. Morris Star Route.


JOHN - Funeral services for Lucy Baily John, wife of Hagan John, of Mt. Morris Star Route, who die din her home Wednesday, Sept. 17, 1947, will be held Friday, Sept. 19. A short service will be held in the home at 2 p.m. Further services will be held in the Kirby Methodist Church at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. Merle H. Jay, of Kirby, in charge. Burial will be in the Fairall Cemetery. Friends will be received at the home at any time. Samuel P. Waever, Waynesburg, funeral director.
