Eva D. John

Eva D. John, 99, of 166 West Wayne Street, Waynesburg, died at 4 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 1983, in Greene County Memorial Hospital. She had been seriously ill for the past 10 days.

She was born June 22, 1884, in Perry Township, a daughter of David L. and Sarah Eliza Headlee. Her husband, Forney W. John, died March 14, 1932.

Mrs. John had spent her early life in Perry Township and had resided in Waynesburg since 1925. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Waynesburg, and at the time of her death, was its oldest member. She was also a member of the Worthwhile Bible Class of the church, United Methodist Women, Polly Wayne Garden Club and Pleasant Hour Club.

Surviving are one daughhter, Mary Lou Cunningham of Waynesburg; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

An infant sister and three brothers, Harry J., Clarence and Floyd Headlee, are deceased.
