A. J. Huffman Jr.
Worked for area water companies for 50 years

A. J. Huffman Jr., 80, of 550 Rolling Meadows Road, Waynesburg, died at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 1996, at Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va.

He was born June 7, 1916, in Waynesburg, a son of A. J. Sr. and Gertrude McNeely Huffman.

Mr. Huffman lived his entire life in Waynesburg.

He worked for 35 years for American Water Works in Waynesburg and later worked for 13 years for Southwestern Pennsylvania Water Authority as an operating engineer, retiring in 1981.

For several years, he was owner/operator of Electric Service and West End Motors in Waynesburg.

Mr. Huffman was a member of the Bates Fork Baptist Church, Sycamore.

His wife, Marie Seals Huffman, died April 27, 1996.

Surviving are one daughter, Weedena Barclay of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; three sons, A. J. Huffman III of Waynesburg, Carl S. Huffman of Spraggs and Rex A. Huffman of Carmichaels; one sister, Ruth Scott of Aleppo; one brother, George C. Huffman of Waynesburg R.D. 5; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased in addition to his wife are one grandson, Randy James Huffman; one great-grandson, who died in infancy; one sister, Betty Cox; and one brother, Alvin Huffman.
