Alfred W. Hickman Obituary


Alfred W. Hickman, 79, of Mt. Morris, R. D. 1, died at 4:40 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 1957, in the Greene County Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was a farmer and fur buyer.

Born August 2, 1877, in Perry Township, he was a son of the late James W. and Elsie Hite Hickman. He spent all his life in Perry Township.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ona Wade Hickman, and a daughter.

Surviving are his second wife, Helen Danley Hickman; s stepdaughter, Mrs. Mildred Pierce of Mt. Morris; two brothers, W. L. Hickman of Mt. Morris, and J. H. (Doc) Hickman of Kirby; one half-brother, Rya Fox of Mt. Morris R.D. 1; two nephews and one niece. One sister, Mrs. Nora Haines, is deceased.

He was a member of the Assembly of God Church at Mt. Morris.

HICKMAN - Friends of Alfred W. Hickman of Mt. Morris R. D. 1, who died Saturday, Feb. 16, 1957, are being received at the George I. Church Funeral Home, 197 North Maiden street, Waynesburg, until 12 onno on Tuesday, Feb. 19. Funeral setvices will be held Tuesday at the Assembly of God Church, Mt. Morris, with Rev. Irving Howard officiating. Interment will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mt. Morris.
