Arvel F. Headley

Arvel F. Headley, 57, of Carmichaels, R. D. 1, suffered a fatal heart attack about 12:15 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 1966, while in the Washington Coutny Courthouse.

Headley, a state bituminous mine inspector, was in the office of District Attorney Harold V. Fergus when he suffered the attack and was dead on arrival at Washington Hospital.

He was a son of the late Grant and Alice May Headley and was born February 28, 1909, at Carmichaels, where he resided all his life.

He was a graduate of Cumberland High School, Carmichaels, and a member of the Glades Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder. Mr. Headley was also on the board of directors of the Carmichaels Rotary Club, was president of the Holmes Safety Association, and a member of Valley Lodge 459, F. and A. M., at Masontown.

Surviving are his wife, Sarah E. Crago Headley, whom he married in 1927; two daughters, Norma, wife of William W. Harr, Carmichaels, and Beverly Headley, at home; one son, Robert S. Headley of Carmichaels; two grandchildren and one brother, John E. Headley, of Carmichaels.
