Eli E. Headlee

Eli E. Headlee, aged 70, prominent Perry Township farmer and stockman, died suddenly of a heart attack yesterday afternoon, Jan. 22, 1943, at 1 o'clock at his home near Mt. Morris.

A lifelong resident of Perry Township, Mr. Headlee was born November 29, 1872, a son of the late George and Mary Jane Headlee. For several years he was employed as foreman for the late William F. Blair, Waynesburg building contractor. He is survived by his wife, Rose M. Headlee; one daughter, Mrs. Arnold Fox; one grandson, Jimmy Nelson Fox, and the following brothers and sister: W. W. Headlee, of Waynesburg; O. A. Headlee, of Spraggs; Jasper Headlee, of Toledo, O., Benson Headlee, of Pataskala, O., and Mrs. Ida Dulaney, of Mt. Morris. Mr. Headlee was a member of the Shannon Run Methodist Church.

Eli E. Headlee, aged 70 years, of near Mt. Morris, died suddenly Friday, Jan. 22, following a heart attack.

Mr. Headlee was a son of George and Mary Jane Headlee, and was born November 29, 1872, in Perry Township, where he spent his life. He was a prominent farmer and stock raiser and for several years was head foreman for the late W. F. Blair, Waynesburg building contractor.

Mr. Headlee was a member of the Shannon Run Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rose Mariner Headlee; one daughter, Mrs. Arnold Fox; one grandson, Jimmy Nelson Fox, of Mt. Morris, and the following brothers and sisters; William W. Headlee, of Waynesburg; O. A. Headlee, of Spraggs; Jasper Headlee, of Toledo, Ohio; Benson Headlee, of Pataskala, Ohio, and Mrs. Ida Dulaney, of Mt. Morris. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Mt. Morris Methodist Church conducted by Rev. M. L. Husted, of Murrysville, Interment was made in Cedar Grove cemetery.

Headlee - Funeral services for Eli E. Headlee, of near Mt. Morris, will be held Monday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m., in Mt. Morris Methodist Church, in charge of the Rev. M. L. Husted, of Murrysville. Friends received at home after 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mt. Morris, C. W. Parkinson, funeral director.
