MRS. BERTHA C. HEADLEE

Mrs. Bertha C. Headlee, 79, widow of Ernest Headlee and lifelong resident of the Mt. Morris community, died at 11:15 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 1953, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Herbert Wise, at Mt. Morris, following a lingering illness.

Born March 23, 1874, at Garards Fort, she was a daughter of the late Franklin and Hannah Guthrie Henderson. Early in life she united with the old Whiteley Chapel Methodist Church and was an active member of the Methodist Church all her life.

She married Ernest Headlee, who died eight years ago. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. herbert Wise of Mt. Morris and Mrs. Charles Bradford of Waynesburg; one son, Clarence Headlee of Morgantown, W. Va.; two grandchildren; one brother, Owen Henderson of Davistown; a half-sister, Mrs. Vernon Bunner of Garards Fort, and her stepmother, Mrs. Elmira Henderson.


HEADLEE - Friends of Mrs. Bertha Headlee of Mt. Morris, widow of Ernest Headlee, who died Thursday night, May 7, 1953, are being received at the Church Funeral Home, 197 North Maiden street, Waynesburg, where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. DST Sunday, May 10, with the Rev. W. C. Long in charge. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
