MRS. JESSIE S. GROOMS

Mrs. Jessie Sproat Grooms, 73, wife of Clinton Grooms, of Khedive, died at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan, 4, 1956, in Greene County Memorial Hospital after an illness of several months.

Born March 4, 1882 in Morgan Township, she was a daughter of Jacob and Harriet Fordyce Sproat and spent most of her life in the Khedive community where she was widely known. She was a member of the Muddy Creek Presbyterian Church. Besides her husband she leaves one son, William S. Grooms of Jefferson R. D. 1, one daughters, Mrs. Noah M. Hartley of Carmichaels, seven grandchildren, three greatgrandchildren, five brothers, Lon Sproat and Noah Sproat of Waynesburg, R. D., Samuel and Ross Sproat of Washington, Pa., and WIlliam Sproat in Alaska, and one sister, Miss Anna Sproat of Waynesburg.

Funeral arrangements, in charge of the Weaver Funeral Home, Waynesburg, were incomplete last night.

GROOMS - Friends of Mrs. Jessie Sproat Grooms, wife of Clinton Grooms, who died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 1956, are being received at the Weaver Funeral Home, 182 West High street, where fineral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7 with Rev. I. K. Teal of California, Pa., formerly Muddy Creek pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Greene County Memorial Park.
