Zella M. Gorrell

Services were October 2 at the Avon United Methodist Church for Zella Myrtle Gorrell, age 108, Plainfield, who died September 30 at Heartland Health Care - Prestwick. Rev. Tom Pitcher officiated. Burial was in the Macedonia Cemetery. Conkle Avon Chapel was in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of the church of which she was a member.

Born October 4, 1883 in Brown Township, Hendricks County, she was a daughter of Oliver and Emma (Gossett) Fordyce.

The widow of William J. Gorrell, who preceded in 1962, she taught Sunday School for 10 years. She was a member of the Homemakers Club, the Civic Club, and the Lotus Literary Club.

She is survived by one daughter, Nellie V. Jones of Indianapolis; six great-grandchildren, Janet Ward, Nancy Mace, Louise Bowman, Jolin Farmer, Herschel Farmer and Richard Jones, and seven great-great grandchildren.

Zella Gorrell, Plainfield Zella Myrtle Fordyce Gorrell, 108 of Plainfield, died Sept. 30. She was born on Oct. 4, 1883 to Oliver Fordyce and Emma Gossett in Hendricks County.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Avon United Methodist Church, Civic Club, Lotus Literary Club, and Homemaker Club. She taught Sunday Shcool for 10 years.

Survivors include daughter, Nellie V. Jones of Indianapolis; great-granddaughters, Janet Ward, Nancy Mace and Louise Bowman; great-grandsons, John Farmer, Herschel Farmer and Richard Jones; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Avon United Methodist Church with burial at Macedonia Cemetery. Reverend Tom Pitcher officiated. Memorial contributions can be made to Avon United Methodist Church Building Fund.
