Mildred B. Garber

Lifetime resident of Greene County

Mildred B. Garber, 91, of Waynesburg, died Thursday, August 19, 1999, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg.

She was born August 18, 1908, in Ruff Creek, a daughter of Imri and Mary Tennant Blaker.

Mrs. Garber was a homemaker and a lifetime resident of Greene County.

She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church of Ruff Creek

Mrs. Garber loved gardening and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

On August 18, 1927, she married Harry W. Garber, who died August 13, 1974.

Surviving are four daughters, Peg Rinehart of Austintown, Ohio, Nora Anderson of Khedive, Bonnie Chaney of Delta, Ohio, and Wilma Jane Garber of Washington; a son, Don Garber of Strongsville, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Deceased are a son, Harry W. Garber Jr.; three daughters, Donna Faye Garber, Mary Porter and Martha Brand; a sister, Lillian Walsh; and two brothers, Ted and Vernon Blaker.


GARBER - Friends of Mildred B. Garber of Waynesburg, who died Thursday, August 19, 1999, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Behm Funeral Home Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 23, with the Rev. Richard E. Visser officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
