MRS. VELMA B. FORDYCE

Mrs. Velma Baker Fordyce, 50, wife of Lloyd J. Fordyce and former Waynesburg resident, died at 8:25 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 1957, at the home of her parents, 48 Union street, Uniontown. She had been seriously ill for several months.

Born August 9, 1907 at Metz, W. Va., she was a daughter of George H. and Della E. Thompson Baker of Uniontown, who survive. Most of her life was spent in Uniontown, Waynesburg and Detroit. She was a member of the Asbury Methodist Church of Uniontown, the Americna Legion Auxiliary unit of James Farrell Post 330, Waynesburg; the past senior regent of the Uniontown Women of the Moose, and was a member of the Women of the Moose at Detroit, Mich., where she resided for several years. He husband and parents are the only surviving members of her family.

Friends will be received after 7:30 p.m. today (Friday) at the Weaver Funeral Home, Waynesburg, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, with Rev. Allen J Howes, pastor of the Asbury Methodist Church, Uniontown, officiating, and burial will be in Greene County Memorial Park.
