WAYNESBURG - T. R. (Ted) Fordyce, 74, of 53 W. Franklin St., Waynesburg, died at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 12, 1979, after a lingering illness.

Born May 12, 1905 in Waynesburg, he was the son of the late Lucinda Fordyce.

His wife, Frances Hoy Fordyce, died in 1975.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Waynesburg, and was a graduate of Waynesburg High School.

He spent two years at Waynesburg College, before graduating from the Bentley School of Finance and Accounting in Boston.

He had been employed with the old tin mill in West Waynesburg, the Hudson Auto Plant in Detroit, J & L. Steel in Pittsburg, the U.S. Postal Service (for 27 years) and hotels and motels along the east coast.

He was a Waynesburg Little League Baseball official and manager, and was a member of the American Legion Post 330, Waynesburg.

He was a pasr Chef de Gar 40 and 8 of Waynesburg, and was a veteran of World War II, having served with the 8th Air Force in England. He had been a member of the Waynesburg VFW.

He is survived by a sister, Mrs. William C. English of Miami, Florida; and a nephew, William English, also of Florida.


FORDYCE - Friends of T. R. (Ted) Fordyce, 74, of Waynesburg, who died on Monday, Nov. 12, 1979, will be received at the Garrison Funeral Home, Waynesburg, on Tuesday, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. David Barrett officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Park.
