Robert Bruce Fordyce Obituary

Robert Fordyce, 61, of Salem, died Monday. The cause of death was unavailable.

He was born in Seattle and moved to the Salem area in 1945. He graduated from North Salem High School in 1955. He was a life long farmer in Pratum and a reforestation contractor in the 1960s and 1970s. He was a member of the Pratum School Board, Pratum Co-op and Fire District 1 Budget Committee. He was a member of the Marion County Farm Bureau and loved to fish.

Survivors include his wife, Norma, whom he married in 1958; sons Steven, Michael, Craig and Raymond, all of Salem; [half] sisters Cathy Tharp of Snohomish, Wash., Beverly Cox of Edmonds, Wash., and [stepsister] Sherry Fern of Eugene; [step] brother, Mike Wodzewoda of Gresham; and eight grandchildren.

Visiting will be 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. Thursday in Rigdon-Ransom Colonial Chapel. Rosary will be 10:30 A.M. Friday in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, where he was a member. Visiting will be 10 A.M. prior to the Rosary. Mass will be 11 A.M. Friday in the church. Interment will be in Pratum Cemetery. Contributions: Salem Catholic Schools Foundation.
