KENT C. FORDYCE

Kent C. Fordyce, 61, of 648 East Greene Street, Waynesburg, died at 12:30 p.m. Friday, July 26, 1968, in the office of a physician at Pittsburgh.

He was born April 28, 1907, at Pine Bank, a son of the late Edward C. and Ella Kent Fordyce.

He is survived by his wife, Leila Swann Fordyce, whom he married May 30, 1933.

A member of the Pine Bank Methodist Church, Mr. Fordyce also belonged to the Masonic Lodge at Tarentum, the Valley of Pittsburgh Consistory, the Syria Temple Shrine, and BPOE 757 at Waynesburg.

He was a 1926 graduate of Waynesburg High School and attended Monmouth College in New Jersey and Coyne Electrical School at Chicago, Ill. He received an electrical engineering degree from I. C. S. and was employed by the Duquesne Light Company for 14 years. He also worked for the Bureau of Reclamation at Coolidge, Ariz., and was a service engineer for the Elliott Company of Jeannette for several years. Mr. Fordyce retired in 1964.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons: Edward C. Fordyce II, of Fairmont, W. Va., and Raymond Kent Fordyce, of Waynesburg; one daughter, Joan Lyng, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one granddaughter, Karen Lyng, of Fort Lauderdale, and one brother, Joseph I. Fordyce, of Jackson, Mich.

One infant son is deceased.

Services were held Monday with burial in Greene County Memorial Park.
