HANOVER -- Colin R. Fordyce, 50, of Hanover, a former engineer for Rapid Stand Co. of Michigan, died Wednesday in South Shore Hospital, South Weymouth, after a long illness. Mr. Fordyce also worked for Norfolk Conveyor Co.

He was born and raised in Hanover and graduated in 1962 from Hanover High School, where he was a member of the football team.

Mr. Fordyce also was a member of the Pembroke/Hanover Elks Lodge.

He is survived by two daughters, Kim McDonald and Dina Fordyce, both of Weymouth; his mother, Dorothy (Rennie) Fordyce of Hanover; and two brothers, Kirt H. Fordyce of Hanover and Todd Fordyce of Plymouth.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday in Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St., by the Rev. Steve Harvester, pastor of Church Hill Methodist Church. Burial in Hanover Center Cemetery will follow cremation.

Visiting is 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin Place, Boston 02215.
