H. Madeline Evans
Former master of Harveys Grange 1444

H. Madeline Evans, 87, of Rogersville, died at 10:05 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 1993, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

She was born February 4, 1906, in Jackson Township, Greene County, a daughter of Harvey and Louie Fordyce Evans, and resided in the Rogersville and Waynesburg areas all her life.

Miss Evans attended the former Hopewell Methodist Church. He was a member of Rogersville United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school superintendent for 17 1/2 years.

She also was a member of the United Methodist Women of the church.

Miss Evans was a sales clerk with the G. C. Murphy Co. in Waynesburg for several years prior to retiring. Following her retirement, she worked part time at Dulaney Dress Shop in Waynesburg.

She was a 50-year member of Harvey's Grange 1444 and was a former master and overseer of the grange. She also was a member of the Pomona, state and national granges.

She is survived by a sister, Josie Lee Evans of Waynesburg.
