MELVIN L. DODGE

Melvin L. Dodge, 65, of Spraggs, R.D. 1 died at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 1975 at the Downtown General Hospital at Morgantown, W. Va. following a long illness.

He was born May 5, 1910 at Blacksville, a son of the late Melville and Lyda Blue Dodge.

With the exception of 16 years he had lived most of his life in the Spraggs, Blacksville communities.

He was a member of the Methodist Church and was a veteran of World War II, having served with the United States Navy.

He was a member of the Waynesburg Eagles Club and was a retired employee of the General Motors Corp., having worked at the Fisher Body Plant at Cleveland, Ohio.

He had spent his early life as a construction employee.

His wife, Katheryn Rush Dodge survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. John (Joan) McDougal, Lorraine, Ohio, Mrs. William (Elinor) Weber, Vermillion, Ohio, Mrs. Stanley (Willa) Cree, Waynesburg, R.D. 1 and Mrs. Quinton (Joyce) Simmons, Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Two sons, William in Virginia and Lyle, of Richmond, Va., also survive.

Also surviving are 27 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Two sisters, Mrs. Florence Strosnider of Blacksville and Mrs. Eva Inghram of Waynesburg, also survive.

Two sisters, Maude Morris and Mildred Thistlewaite and two grandchildren preceded him in death.
