Mrs. Hester J. Delaney

Mrs. Hester J. Delaney, aged 67 years, widow of David Delaney, died suddenly at her home in North Porter street Wednesday night, December 29, a 8:30 o'clock. Mrs. Delaney was apparently in her accustomed health Wednesday, but that evening she was stricken with a heart attack and lived but a few minutes. She was a daughter of the late John E. and Rebecca Connor Headley and was born August 17, 1859, at Mt. Morris. She had been a lifeong resident of Greene county and had lived in Waynesburg for the past twenty years. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Her husband died in November 1924. She leaves two daughters and two sons, namely: Mrs. W. W. Headley, of Waynesburg; Luther Delaney, of Pittsburgh; Robert Delaney, of Oakdale, and Miss Oscie Delaney, at home. Two children, Lindsey and Joanna, are deceased. One sister, Mrs. John Lemley, of Mt. Morris, also survives. Funeral services will be held at the Delaney residence Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Franklin Crawford, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church. Interment will be in the Cedar Grove cemetery at Mt. Morris.
