Claude R. Cumpston

Claude R. Cumpston, 65, of 91 Hampton Avenue, Imperial, formerly of Waynesburg, died of an apparent heart attack at 8 a.m. Tuesday, January 14, 1986, in his home.

He was born November 22, 1920, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Albert and Bessie Watson Cumpston.

He had lived his early life in Waynesburg, and resided in Allegheny County for the past 30 years.

He was a member of Alliance Community Church in McKees Rocks.

He worked for 27 years with the Shenango Corp. in Neville Island, and had retired in 1983.

He is survived by his wife, Sara Cummins Cumpston, whom he married September 21, 1940; a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Carol) Ganoe of Coraopolis; three sons, Jack Cumpston of Claysville and Richard and John Cumpston, both of Imperial; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Louise Morris of Washington, Anna Mae Whitehill of McKees Rocks, and Frances Cumpston and Margaret Wilson, both of Waynesburg; and six brothers, Glen, of Meadville, Allan of Coraopolis, Paul of Imperial, Wayne of Upland, Calif., Earl of Lynnwood, Wash., and Charles Cumpston of Amite, La.

A son, Samuel is deceased.
