Mrs. Ella T. Crouse, 68, widow of Campbell Crouse of Center Township, died at 5:15 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29, 1949, in Greene County Memorial Hospital after a lingering illness.

A daughter of the late James and Louise Bolden Rock, she was born Oct. 8, 1880, near Greensboro, but spent most of her life in Center Township, residing near the Crouse schoolhouse on the Rogersville Road. She was a member of the Rogersville Christian Church. She was married August 7, 1899 to Campbell Crouse whose death occurred about four months ago. She was the last of her family.

Besides her step-mother, Mrs. Margaret Rock, of Waynesburg, she leaves six daughters and five sons, namely; Mrs. Sarah Grossman, Mrs. Helen Haines and Mrs. Kathleen Chambers, all of Waynesburg; Mrs. Carolyn Lemley, of Point Marion, Mrs. Louise Anderson, of Mt. Morris; Dayton and James Crouse, of Nineveh, R.D., Lawrence and Walter Crouse, of Rogersville, and Theodore Crouse of Rutan. There are 23 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.


CROUSE - Funeral services for Mrs. Ella T. Crouse, widow of Campbell Crouse, of Center Township, who died Sunday evening, Feb. 20, 1949, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the Church Funeral Home, 197 North Maiden street, Waynesburg, with the Rev. H. H. Stansbury officiating. Burial in Greene County Memorial Park. Friends received at the funeral home, after 7 p.m. Monday.
