Harriet Marie Cole

Mrs. Harriet Marie Cole, 65, of Brave, was dead on arrival at Greene County Memorial Hospital at 6:15 a.m. Thursday, April 1, 1971, after suffering an apparent heart attack in her home. She had been in failing health for some time.

Mrs. Cole was the wife of W. P. Cole [sic], whom she married October 29, 1926.

A daughter of Daniel and Nora Stiles Cumberledge, she was born March 5, 1906, in Monongalia County, W. Va., and had resided virtually all her life at Brave. She was a member of the Kent's Chapel Methodist Church and of the WSCS of the church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters: Mrs. Gaylord (Clara) Ward, of Greensburg, and Mrs, Thomas (Patsy) Gooden, of Waynesburg, R. D. 4; two sons: William Dale Cole, of Export, R.D. 1, and Garry A. Cole, of Dilliner, R. D. 1; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Robert (Laura) Miller, of Rivesville, W. Va., and Mrs. Floyd (Florine) Wilson, of Waynesburg; a stepson, W. O. Cole, Jr., of Blacksville, W. Va.; 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; four sisters: Mrs. Artie Rose, of Hibbs; Mrs. Winnie Conaway, of Lawrenceville; Mrs. Ruth Hixenbaugh, of Delmont, and Mrs. Pansy Weaver, of Lawrenceville, and two brothers: Joel Cumberledge, of Westfield, and Claude Cumberledge, of Tioga.

A son, a daughter, a sister and two brothers are deceased.

Funeral services were held Sunday with burial in Pine Bank Cemetery.
