Louise Wood Blaker

Louise Wood Blaker, 68, of 480 Cherry St., Waynesburg was dead on arrival at the Greene County Memorial Hospital Tuesday, June 13, 1972 at 10:30 a.m. She had suffered an apparent coronary occlusion at her home minutes earlier.

Mrs. Blaker was born June 22, 1903 in Center Township near Rogersville, a daughter of Jesse and Mary Kent Wood.

All of her life was spent in Waynesburg including over 40 years in North Waynesburg.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Waynesburg and the Tuesday afternoon Bowling League and for the last few years owned and operated a convalescent home.

Her husband Vernon M. Blaker was a well known service station operator and auto mechanic. He died October 27, 1964.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. George E. (Mary Lou) Salsberry, of Washington; Mrs. Jack (Sue) Watkins, of Richmond, Va.; Mrs. Charles (Patricia) Tipton, of Lower Burrell; two sons, Merle Blaker, of Waynesburg and William Blaker, of Greensburg; 10 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Hugh (Mable) Stockdale, of Washington and one brother, Charles V. Wood, of Waynesburg.

One son, one daughter, one sister, and four brothers are deceased.

Funeral services were held Friday with burial in Greene County Memorial Park.
