William H. Bissett Obituary

William H. Bissett, 82, of New Freeport R.D. 1, died at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 1974, in Greene Conty Memorial Hospital.

Born January 1, 1892, in Aleppo township, he was the son of Calvin Newton Bissett and Belle Ullom Bissett, and was married October 24, 1914, to the former Ethel Williams, who survives.

Mrs. Bissett was a retired equipment operator, working most of his life on the highway construction. He lived all his life in the West Greene area, serving as a road supervisor in Jackson Township for several years, and was also a trustee of the Bethany Cemetery Association.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, William H. Bissett, Jr., of Washington; and Clifford Bissett of New Freeport R.D. 1; a daughter, Mrs. David (Helen) Hoffman of Irwin; a foster daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Evanseky of Fostoria, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers: George W. Bissett of Waynesburg; and Charles C. Bissett and Herschel U. Bissett, both of New Freeport; and two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Mildred) Six of Wexford; and Mrs. Arthur (Naomi) Huffman, both of Bellvue.

An infant daughter, four sisters, and three brothers, are all deceased.
