J. M. Fordyce Article

On Friday last, we learned, that Mr. J. M. Fordyce who lives down at what is known as Bonar's Mill had a little experience he wouldn't care to repeat every day in the week. He had just left his coal bank with a sled load of coal, himself and child being on the load, when the sled slipped off the track, carrying them team and all over an embankment of about 20ft of almost perpendicular height. Though the bed was thrown from the sled and all torn loose from the horses, no injury was done to man, child or beast, except one of Mr. Fordyce's hands was slightly hurt. The child was still sitting on the coal in the bed without a scratch or bruise.

Waynesburg Republican, date unknown
